An Academy by Lamplight


CGI film, projector, found stone, 2019





Computer generated image of a glass paraffin lamp with engraved William Morris pattern, rotating on axis with light diffractions. Projected into the corner of a room, lighting an assemblage of found stones. The title is taken from a painting by Joseph Wright of Derby, depicting a group of draughtsmen studying a marble statue lit by a hanging oil lamp.
